The Scottish town of Peterhead is located in the county of Aberdeenshire. Peterhead is actually the biggest settlement within Aberdeen and it has an approximate population of about nineteen thousand. The town of Peterhead is located at the most eastern point on the mainland of Scotland. The town of Peterhead is often commonly referred to as "The Blue Toon". The native people of this town are often referred to as the Blue Tooners however more correctly they are referred to as Bloomogganners. The Bloomogganner name is supposed to be taken from the blue stockings that were once worn by the fishermen.
During the May of 2007 the football club within the town that the is better known as Peterhead Football Club acquired the song called "The Blue Toon Tune" as their fan song.
Fishermen originally founded the town of Peterhead and it was erected as a settlement that was planned. During 1953 the first harbour within Peterhead was constructed and this port was called Port Henry. Port Henry encouraged the town to grow. It was developed as a port for fishing and then went on to become an established base for many industries to trade.
